The Mad Wizard made enemies wherever he went. So dire was his reputation that ordinary people avoided him. Even his colleagues barely tolerated his eccentricity, many despising him in secret. For all that his misanthropy soured relationships and set him on a path of isolation—if you except his cats—he did accomplish some good in the world. When he found something awful, he put it somewhere it could not hurt any felines. And if the act saved a few people, too, even better.

Into the level known as the Crypt of the Dead Dreamer did the Mad Wizard place such a threat. Somewhere, at the heart of this place, lurks a fell prisoner, an aborted god seized before it could awaken into the fullness of its power and locked away, hopefully for all time. The thing might be dead, yet its consciousness lives on. It strains against the prison confining it, the threat that it might break free increasing every day.

Dungeon of the Damned: Crypt of the Dead Dreamer presents an entirely new level in the deadly dungeon. Written for expert characters, the place challenges even veteran explorers. Once inside, the characters must find a way to navigate its perils and locate the exit before their lives become nightmares. Although part of a series, you can run this adventure as a stand-alone scenario. Do the characters have what it takes to confront the Dead Dreamer? Find out!
