Foundry Virtual Tabletop is hiring a Game Designer and Writer!

Game Designer and Writer

We are looking for a motivated and talented creator to join our team as a full-time Game Designer and Game Writer. In this role you will work with our team of incredibly talented artists, developers, writers, and designers to create Ember, a revolutionary digital roleplaying campaign setting, and Crucible, an innovative digital roleplaying game system. Both of these products are designed and created exclusively for digital play on Foundry Virtual Tabletop, challenging you to innovate with designs that honor TTRPG tradition while inventing new paradigms for play.

Baseline Requirements

Candidates for the role must satisfy the following expectations:

A screenshot of Ember depicting journal entries and narrative design tools.
You will use powerful tools to design gameplay experiences with non-linear branching narratives and consequential choices into compelling multi-event quest arcs.

When evaluating candidates for this role we will prefer applicants with some of the following attributes:

You will work directly with our talented team of artists, developers, and peer writers to design gameplay that is supported by exceptional artwork, music, and software features.

We will select a limited number of applicants to participate in an interview process, expected some time during January 2026. This interview process will involve a sequence of interviews with current team members as well as an at-home work assignment designed to emulate the work responsibilities of the role.
