Bastion of Blasphemies is a definitive digital adaptation of the Pathfinder adventure path by James Jacobs, an epic campaign for levels 5 through 14.
For centuries, a strange, scorched ruin loomed atop an island in Lake Laroba in eastern Ustalav, the fog-shrouded land of horrors. On clear days, the re-blackened towers and crumbling walls of this ancient castle are visible to those plying the West Sellen River to the east. On some nights, when the fog is light and thin, one might spy lights ickering, as if from high tower windows, yet no such towers rise above the castle today.
People whisper about the ruins. Travelers avert their eyes when passing them. They speak quietly of how any who try to reclaim the cursed place tend to meet tragic ends or of how treasure seekers eager to uncover abandoned riches and picked-over web-choked rooms and suffer the most unbearable nightmares for weeks to follow—assuming they simply don’t vanish without a trace. But there comes a time, once every hundred years, when the whispers and idle glances sent this ruin’s way turn to outright terror and wards against evil. For on these centennials, strange green mists wash over the ruins, restoring the castle into a looming testament to one of the most infamous curses in all of Ustalav.
On these nights, the Black Coach rides across the spectral span of the Laroba Causeway, its headless coachman seeking specic passengers to take back across the bridge. Those who deny the coachman aren’t forced inside the carriage, but within a week, they meet strange and horrible deaths. Those who accept the invitation to ride back meet fates unknown, for they’re never seen again. Then the mists rise once more, and the castle reverts to an empty ruin, awaiting another hundred years before the curse of Bastardhall returns once more.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the technical requirements to play this adventure?
Because Bastion of Blasphemies features such an enormous scene, the technical requirements for playing this adventure are somewhat loftier than those for generic Foundry VTT usage. Our team has done a lot of work to optimize the content and enable it to be usable on a broad range of hardware, however we do advise that the Gamemaster and players meet the Recommended Specifications rather than just the minimum hardware profile that Foundry VTT requires.
How is it possible to explore such a large scene?
We implemented an advanced software framework that slices the entire scene into a pyramid of square tiles at stratified zoom levels. The software dynamically loads and renders the subset of tiles that are necessary in order to depict your current view. This makes it feasible to present a scene much larger than can be supported by a map that is a single image.
How does Bastion of Blasphemies connect to Secrets of Grayce?
Secrets of Grayce (purchased separately) is not a canonical prologue to Bastion of Blasphemies, but it is a recommended one. Both adventures take place in the Ustalav region of Golarion, and the level range for Secrets of Grayce (1 through 4) is perfect to begin Bastion of Blasphemies at level 5. There is also a NPC which appears in both adventures, facilitating a narrative tie-in that helps motivate your journey to Bastardhall.
