Omnipresence synchronizes player character actors, player journals, and the hotbar (macros and chat commands) across multiple worlds on the same Foundry server.
If your campaign is split between multiple Foundry worlds, or you want to keep the same character (along with your gear, spells, status, etc.) through a series of one-shots, this module is for you.
What it Does
- Keeps your player characters in sync across all worlds on your server (if you want them to be)
- Keeps player journals (for when the players are keeping notes) in sync across all worlds on your server (if you want them to be)
- Keeps your hotbar in sync across all worlds on your server (if you want it to be)
- Full control of what gets synchronized and what doesn't, both as a user and as gamemaster
Why it Matters
- If you have a long-running campaign, you previously had to delete/archive individual assets (maps, actors, items, etc.) periodically to keep performance from bogging down, or to keep your panels from getting too cluttered. Now, you can split your campaign across several worlds without worry of ensuring that the right version of a PC or macro gets copied over
- Also great if your campaign is a series of one-shots, or if you rotate who is gamemaster!
How it Works
- All data is stored in shared compendiums (bundled with the module). Nothing is hidden, you can always pull out your player characters/macros and use them normally
- The module manages all data updates for you (yes, you could do this all yourself manually...but why would you?)
- IMPORTANT! Your user name is what the module keys on to determine ownership across worlds. This is just how Foundry works -- there's no such thing as a global userid across worlds.
- Only worlds on the same Foundry server can share data, and only PCs from the same game system can be shared. Again, this is just how Foundry works.
Supported systems
- D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Daggerheart, Draw Steel, Shadowdark, and Call of Cthulhu 7e.
- Each system uses its own shared pack; sharing characters across different games wouldn’t make sense, plus it’s not supported by Foundry.
Requirements
- Foundry VTT v13 or higher
- Multiple worlds hosted on the same Foundry server (sync happens through shared compendiums on your server; it does not transfer characters between different servers)
