Title: Mythica Machina - Docklands Warehouse / Heist Target
Down by the waterfront, where cranes creak overhead and boats come and go at all hours, sits a sprawling warehouse that sees far more than it lets on. Crates of mundane cargo share floor space with oddities nobody's quite willing to explain — a towering telescope, a mining drill the size of a cart — while a quietly guarded lockup in the back holds the goods actually worth stealing. Ringed by a handful of smaller shopfronts offering plenty of places to lie low before the job, this single-floor map is built for smuggling runs, warehouse heists, and dockside shakedowns. Enhanced by the "Map Shine Advanced" module, lantern light flickers across the water and the river itself ripples and catches the light as boats drift at their moorings.
Map Breakdown & Key Areas:
The Waterfront:
Running the length of the map's southern edge, a working river or harbour frontage where the warehouse does its real business.
-
Docks & Cranes: Moored boats, loading cranes, and crowded jetties where cargo is swung ashore and hauled into the warehouse — or smuggled out the same way.
The Main Warehouse Floor:
A vast open storage space dominated by stacked crates, barrels, and bolts of fabric, with a few far stranger items scattered among the mundane cargo.
-
Odd Cargo: A massive telescope and an industrial mining drill sit among the ordinary goods, hinting that not everything passing through this warehouse is as innocent as it looks.
-
Guard Room: Tucked into the southeast corner, a card game is in full swing — the warehouse's watch, distracted and off their guard.
-
Manager's Office: Just north of the guard room, a small office where the paperwork — and quite possibly the ledgers worth stealing — is kept.
-
The Secure Lockup: In the northwest corner, a separate caged room holding three locked containers of far more valuable goods — the real prize for anyone willing to risk the break-in.
The Surrounding Shopfronts:
Partial shop sections line the warehouse's east and west edges, offering cover, contacts, and a place to watch the building before making a move.
-
Pottery & Art Shop: In the northeast, a shop of fine ceramics and artwork, respectable enough to mask anyone keeping an eye on the warehouse.
-
Grain Storage: In the southeast, sacks and silos of grain provide plenty of cover close to the guarded corner of the warehouse.
-
Wine Merchant's Shop: In the southwest, barrels and bottles stacked floor to ceiling, a convenient excuse to be loitering near the docks.
-
Weapons & Armour Shop: In the northwest, racks of blades and armour sit close to the warehouse's secure lockup — handy, if things go loud.
GM Tools & Technical Details:
-
"Map Shine Advanced" Module Integration: This map is built for the "Map Shine Advanced" module, which animates the waterfront with flowing, light-catching water, flickering dockside lanterns, and other dynamic effects throughout the warehouse.
Suggested Uses:
-
The Lockup Job: The party cases the surrounding shops before slipping past the distracted card game in the guard room to crack open the secure lockup in the northwest.
-
Dockside Smuggling: A shady contact needs cargo moved off a boat and out through the warehouse without the manager's office ever noticing the ledgers don't match.
-
Strange Cargo: The party is hired to identify what the warehouse's oversized telescope and mining drill are actually for — and who ordered them.
-
Watching the Watchers: Staking out the warehouse from the pottery shop or wine merchant's across the way, the party tracks the guards' card-game schedule to time their break-in.
-
The Getaway: With the alarm raised, the party has to fight their way back to the docks and onto a waiting boat before the cranes and jetties fill with pursuers.
