In D&D terms, a “townie” isn’t an insult, it’s a job description. They are the people who actually live here. They remember what used to be where that new building is, know every petty feud within three blocks, and can tell you exactly when “things started going downhill” (usually right after the old inn burned down).
They’re the ones who know which alley is “technically safe,” which merchant waters down the ale, and why you absolutely do not ask Old Man Harven about the scarecrow incident.
Adventurers are the opposite: they roll in from Somewhere Else, turn local problems into XP, and leave with a suspicious amount of your town’s “unclaimed” treasure.
Townies keep the setting running. Adventurers keep the encounter tables employed.

Quick Start
- Open the Actors tab and click the Townie Maker button ("user-plus" icon) in the Actors Directory header (GM-only).
