Herald
Herald gives GMs animated actor/NPC intro announcements — slide, drop, or fade a token's portrait onto every player's screen, with live actor data pulled straight from the actor sheet.
Trigger from Token HUD or the Actor Directory — right-click a token or an actor in the sidebar, no macro knowledge required. GM-only, hidden from players outright.
Two universal templates — one for PCs, one for NPCs/Creatures, configured once in Settings. Click Herald on any token and it resolves the matching template with zero per-actor setup.
Live actor data in your text — message and subtext accept {{path}} tokens resolved at trigger time (e.g. {{actor.name}} has entered the fray!), mixed freely with static text. A field-picker dropdown offers common fields plus a per-system map (PF2e shipped as the reference implementation), and a custom-path box for anything else.
Animated entrance — 4 animations × 5 positions, with an optional backdrop (solid color or image) in Portrait, Landscape, or Square proportions for real ornate-frame-style art. Three sample backdrops ship ready to use.
Portrait Source — Avatar or Token (whatever's actually configured in the token's texture slot — image or video, detected automatically). A per-actor Portrait Override button on the Prototype Token config window lets one specific actor override just its own portrait, independent of the global template.
Chat Card companion (on by default, toggleable) — every trigger also posts a chat message with the portrait, name, and subtext, so the announcement persists even if someone missed the live overlay.
Card Size (Small/Medium/Large) — shared for the whole table, since everyone sees the same broadcast.
Audio and timing — an independent audio track, a Mute Audio override that always wins, and a configurable duration (or manual close).
For full documentation and configuration options see the README, and the Visual Guide for a screenshot walkthrough of every screen.
