Demonstration Video
Attention: this video was filmed with FoundryVTT v.11. Users of FoundryVTT v12 or newer will find the dice configuration menu integrated into the core configuration settings window. See the image below:
Module requirements
- This module is built and works genuinely with GoDice, the first connected RPG dice.
- Foundry versions lower than 12 require the installation of [Unfulfilled Rolls module](https://foundryvtt.com/packages/unfulfilled-rolls) by FoundryVTT.
- Requires GoDice™ mobile app (Download on Google Play OR on the AppStore)
- For an enhanced experience, we strongly recommend using a 3D dice module (optional), such as the Dice So Nice! module.
Connecting your GoDice
Download the GoDice™ app, and make sure your mobile device and PC are connected to the same local network (i.e., the same router) either by WiFi or Cable.
Look for the FoundryVTT connector utility in the GoDice™ library (at the bottom of the list).
Copy the IP address shown at the bottom of your screen, or share it with yourself.
Paste the WS address into your GoDice Bluetooth Dice configurations in Foundry. Then click Save Changes to achieve the connection.
You’re good to go!
How to use the FoundryVTT connector in the GoDice App
- Make sure your dice are connected (in the dice management window)
- To change a dice type, click on the relevant die in the dice management, and choose the required shell
How to use the GoDice Companion roll fulfillment window
- First, configure the dice types you want to work by rolling GoDice.
- Foundry v11/v10: Do it by opening the "Dice Configuration" under the "Unfulfilled Rolls" tab in the "Configure Settings" window.
- Foundry v12 and newer: Do it by opening the "Dice Configuration" under the "Core" tab in the "Configure Settings" window (no need for unfulfilled rolls module on v12 and on - as it was integrated into the core of the Foundry engine)
Then, choose the Bluetooth Provider to be GoDice for each of the dice types. It is possible to select whether the die output will be from the Bluetooth dice, Manual input, or Foundry Digital roll. Choose whatever Godice shells you own and would like to use as GoDice Bluetooth Dice.
(if using unfulfilled rolls you should first choose the bluetooth die provider at the top, see the second image below):
Like this:
or in older verions:
- Whenever you need to roll some dice that are set as GoDice Bluetooth Dice, the GoDice Companion window will open, and the GoDice that should be rolled will blink to help you pick the ones with the right shells (Cool, eh?).
Now roll them out, and the results will kick in automatically according to your GoDice outcome.
- Tired of rolling or missing a shell?
Click on Submit without rolling some or any of the required dice, and Foundry will roll the missing dice digitally. - Has your dice mistakenly rolled off the table?!
No problem - click on the outcome prompt, delete it, and reroll this dice. - One of your dice lost battery during a roll that resulted in Nat20?!
No problem either—click the outcome prompt and fill in your awesome outcome manually before you submit.
Now Go Get'em Rolling!
