Have you ever subscribed to Cze & Peku, Angela's Maps, The Mad Cartographer, etc and installed a bunch of map modules? Have you ever added a bunch of asset directories for random tokens, map assets, sounds, etc to your foundry install? If yes, you may have found yourself running into annoyances such as searching through the built in file picker, changing directories, enabling visibility for images... and then doing that process over and over again. You may have also found yourself fumbling through enabling individual module packages, then opening compendiums, then importing maps, and THEN searching for a tavern/seaside/graveyard/etc map that suits the style you're looking for. If you've ever experienced any scenarios similar to those, Gambit's Asset Previewer might be for you!
Gambit’s Asset Previewer (GAP) can streamline how you browse, organize, and use your assets inside Foundry. It can build a customizable library from your existing content, along with built-in support for common third-party map packs (Angela's Maps, Cze & Peku, Moonlight Maps, The MAD Cartographer, Tom Cartos, Zachs Maps). These assets can then be managed in a grid-based viewer. Advanced search queries are supported to allow finding groups of assets you're interested in more easily. You can also filter by collection, tags, and media types. Each Asset Type has options built specifically to make working with that asset easier, including:
- Scenes support a dedicated zoom-and-pan enabled window for previews, along with direct importing of enabled modules scenes, or creation of generic scenes from the Image or Video asset when a module is not active/available.
- Audio supports a built in audio player along with an Add to Playlist option and drag and drop canvas sound creation.
- Tokens and Assets support a dedicated zoom-and-pan enabled window for previews, along with drag and drop ambient sound creation on your scenes.
The module also adds lightweight tagging and scene management. You can apply tags to individual assets or in bulk using multi-select and batch tag tools. Taken together, this module turns your assets into an easy to use, curatable, and searchable map, token, audio, and general asset library!
