The Dungeon Map Tiles III set expands on the success of our first and second Dungeon Map Tiles sets with a new third texture range for building your own cultist strongholds, wizard's maze, or whatever structure your imagination can cook up. This map tile set includes a new floor texture range for being rooms and hallways with stone patterns built into the floor. The walls have also been removed from the floor tiles to provide greater flexibility in tiling the floor texture, while allowing for the creation of almost limitless wall designs.
What is a Map Tile?
A map tile, in the context of this set, is a square of artwork depicting a specific 5ft by 5ft area of terrain. Such as the floor of a cave, an area of grass, or where the floor meets a wall. For a Game Master to build an adventure map for players to explore, map tiles are placed onto the digital canvas one by one until the desired terrain is constructed. Be that terrain a wilderness area, a Castle, a dungeon, or a cave system.
Each map tile is a combination of hand-drawn artwork and photographic source material that gives us the unique style of all Studio WyldFurr Map tiles. All of the tiles have been rendered from a bird 's-eye view of the landscape, with shadowing used to give the illusion of depth.
How to use the Dungeon Map Tiles
The map tiles have been made as a kind of ready-made art pack that you can drag-n-drop into place to build a map. The art assets can be employed in FoundryVTT to build an adventure map, or imported into a graphics editor such as Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Gimp, or one of the map-making programs that permit you to use tiles to build maps.
Simply start with a blank white page, set the map grid to 180 pixels for every 5ft map grid square, then drag-n-drop each map tile onto the canvas to build your map. That is it!
If you're still not sure, we have tutorials on the Studio WyldFurr website or "How to" videos on our YouTube Channel that can show you how.
