Iceland, the year 977 A.D., a time when settlers from the mainland faced a harsh, new world where every day was a challenge. Between barren winters and bleak summers, they struggled against the unforgiving environment and one another, while seeking to defend their loved ones, uphold personal codes of honor, and make this land their home.
Celebrated among the Icelanders, the heroes of the sagas were bold and flawed figures whose deeds would be sung in halls and at hearths across all the northern world, throughout centuries to come. Greatest among them were the Vikings, who sought wealth and danger across the sea, raiding, trading, and exploring beyond the edge of the known world.
This is the time of the axe against shield, of dragon-prowed ships, of gods and elves, trolls and dragons. It is a time of wolves and the winter cold, honor and betrayal, an era washed in fire and blood.
It is an age of mythic adventure… the Age of Vikings.
