What this module does
This module is an asset library only. It adds animation files (WebM) to your FoundryVTT data, but on its own it doesn't play anything. To use the animations, you need other modules (see below).
It's a good place to start: learn how animations work in FoundryVTT with the free assets, then decide if you need the full library from our Patreon module.
Size: the module is over 1.5 GB. Check your storage space if you use a hosting service with limited storage.
Recommended modules
- Sequencer: plays the animations. Used by most animation modules and macros.
- Automated Animations: plays animations automatically when you use items, spells or attacks, so you don't have to write macros.
- Effect libraries such as 5e Animations: pre-configured effects you can import directly into Automated Animations. Most of them use JB2A assets.
Free module vs. Patreon module
This free module contains one version of almost every asset in the Patreon module, usually in a single color. The Patreon module contains the complete library, with all colors and variations.
Don't activate both modules at the same time. They can work together, but it sometimes causes errors. Use one or the other.
You can browse the complete library in the Asset Library Viewer.
Documentation and help
- Wiki: explains how the animation ecosystem in FoundryVTT fits together, with guides for creating effects in Automated Animations.
- Troubleshooting: the most common issues and how to fix them. Check here first if something doesn't work.
- Patch notes: what changed in each release.
- Discord server: for questions not covered by the wiki.
- jb2a.com: all our links in one place.
Sound effects
Our friend Peri runs PSFX, a Patreon with sound effects, ambient sounds and soundtracks for VTTs. Some of his sound effects are made to match JB2A animations.
