The Legend of Brightbeard is a chaotic, festive, grim-comedic holiday one-shot for Pirate Borg. Home alone-style traps, weird cave-elves, Christmas-coded horror, and naval disaster movie action. Silly, brutal, cinematic, deadly.
Your pirates start with a night of drunkenness and debauchery at The Green Kraken tavern in Coral Town. The next morning, hungover and poorer, they’re confronted by The Presentless Parent - pleading, promising anything to get their child’s stolen presents back. The crew sails to the Isle of Misfit Tides, where feral dock-elves have rigged the jungle with Home Alone-style traps. Navigating the chaos, the pirates discover the elves aren’t villains - they’re terrified worshippers of a giant sand-crab named Sandy Claws, and something far worse lurks beneath the waves. Eventually the true threat reveals itself: Brightbeard the Red-Nosed, an undead angler fish that devours ships and treasure. The finale is a desperate naval battle against the glowing horror, followed by a brutal beach beatdown as the dying creature spews undead from its gut.
