Chip size on the wheel
This module allows you to enlarge or reduce a token placed on a scene, directly with the mouse wheel, without opening its configuration window.
Use
- The Tokens tool must be active (left toolbar).
- Hover over a token, hold Alt and turn the wheel : up to enlarge, down to reduce.
- A small text appears above the token with its new size (for example "× 1.25" or "2 × 2").
- If the token being hovered over is part of your selection, all selected tokens will change size at the same time.
- Alt + 0 on the numeric keypad restores the token to its original size, that is, the size it had before the first scroll wheel movement.
- The scroll wheel alone retains its usual function: it zooms the map. Ctrl + scroll wheel and Shift + scroll wheel still rotate the tokens.
Settings (Settings › Configure settings › Scroll wheel token size)
World settings , decided by the GM for the entire table:
| Setting | What he does | By default |
|---|---|---|
| What the dial changes | Image scaling : only the token image enlarges; it always occupies the same squares. Ideal for adjusting a visual. Square size : the token actually changes size on the grid (1×1, 1.5×1.5, 2×2…) and its center remains in place. Useful for a large creature or a magnification effect. | Image scale |
| Not on the scale | By how much does the image change with each click of the dial? 0.05 = 5%. The scale ranges from 0.2 to 5. | 0.05 |
| Not the size in boxes | How many spaces does the token grow at each step: 0.5 or 1. The size ranges from 0.5 to 10 spaces. | 0.5 |
| Allow players | If this option is checked, each player can resize their own tokens. Otherwise, only the GM can. | Not checked |
Personal settings : each person chooses for themselves.
| Setting | What he does | By default |
|---|---|---|
| Key to hold | Alt or Shift + Alt, in case Alt interferes with another module. | Alt |
| Reverse the direction of the dial | If it's checked, turn the dial downwards to zoom in. | Not checked |
Customizable shortcut (Settings › Configure controls)
- To restore the token to its original size : Alt + 0 on the default numeric keypad. This applies to the hovered token, or to the selected tokens.
Namely
- The original size is stored in the token after the first change. Therefore, you can always revert to the previous size, even after reloading the page.
- The module only modifies the token placed on the stage, not the actor or their prototype token.
- If a token is mirrored, it remains mirrored when its scale is changed.
