Sephral’s Saved Encounters
Tired of setting up the same monsters over and over again or spending time arranging an encounter every time your players enter a new area?
Saved Encounters lets you save entire groups of monsters and place them on any map whenever you need them. Keep their formations, customize how many enemies appear and even start combat directly after placing them. Whether you're preparing an ambush or reusing encounters across different scenes, the module makes managing your encounters much easier.

Highlights
Save Entire Encounters
Select a group of tokens and save them as an encounter with a single click. Their positions, names, images, sizes and visibility settings are preserved, so you can reuse the same setup whenever you want.
Easy Encounter Placement
Place saved encounters anywhere on a map using a visual preview. The entire formation follows your cursor and automatically adjusts to different grid sizes, including hexagonal and gridless maps.
Rotate Formations
Rotate an entire encounter using Q and E while placing it. Each rotation changes the formation by 90 degrees, and the selected orientation can be saved for future use.
Random Monster Counts
Give individual monster types custom dice formulas like 1d4+1 to create encounters with different numbers of enemies. Additional monsters are automatically placed in available spaces near the original formation.
Unique Characters
Prevent important NPCs and bosses from appearing multiple times on the same scene. If a unique character is already present, the module skips it while placing the remaining monsters normally.
Compendium Integration
Add monsters directly from your actor directory or compendiums. The module automatically imports compendium actors when they are placed for the first time.
Instant Combat Setup
Use the Place and Fight option to place your monsters, add them and the heroes on the scene to the combat tracker and automatically roll initiative for the enemies.
Encounter Map Pins
Mark locations on your map where encounters should appear. Hold Alt and double click a pin to place its saved encounter directly at that position.
Encounter Reset
Remove previously placed monsters or reset an encounter to its original setup. This makes it easy to reuse the same encounter without arranging everything again.
Loot Integration
Attach roll tables to your encounters and generate rewards after combat. If you use Sephral's Loot Ledger, the generated loot can also be transferred directly into it.
How It Works
Enable the module in your world and select the monsters you want to save on your map.
Click Save Selected Tokens as an Encounter in the token controls, give your encounter a name and configure the monster counts or additional notes.
Whenever you want to use it, open Saved Encounters through the token controls or journal sidebar. Select your encounter, choose Place or Place and Fight and click where you want the monsters to appear.
Compatibility
Supports Foundry VTT v13 and v14 and works with any game system. The module is available in English and German.
Saved encounters are stored as journal entries in a folder only the GM can access. You can also move them into compendiums to reuse them across different worlds.
