The module's code was written with AI coding assistance (Claude) and reviewed by me. All user-facing text was written by me. The module itself generates no content; the Scry service uses AI to write session recaps from what the module sends.
Scry turns your Foundry games into session recaps and a campaign wiki. This module sends what happens at your table to your Scry account. It never changes your journals, actors, items or scenes. The only things it saves in your world are its own settings and each player's consent answer.
What gets sent: public chat messages and dice rolls (who rolled, the formula and the result), combat rounds and turns, and scene changes. It also sends the names of your actors, scenes and journals so Scry spells your NPCs and places properly in the voice transcript instead of guessing at them.
What never gets sent: whispers, GM-only rolls, blind rolls and self rolls stay in Foundry. Each player is told once what gets shared, with Yes as the default, and anyone can switch to No in their settings whenever they like. Nothing gets sent for a player who says no.
It works with any game system, so D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Daggerheart, Call of Cthulhu or whatever you’re running, on Foundry V13 and V14.
To set it up, open the Scry panel from the token controls as GM and click Connect to Scry. Approve the code in your Scry account, which you only have to do once per computer. Then pick the Scry campaign the world belongs to. That’s once per world, and you can unlink it later if you need to.
The GM panel shows the live session, a pause switch, which players have consented, and a search box for your campaign wiki.
If you don’t want voice recording you can run a text-only session. On paid plans you can also import your world’s actors, items, journals and scenes into the wiki. It won’t overwrite pages you already have, and any changes come through as suggestions you approve first.
You’ll need a Scry account (there’s a free plan). The connection key is stored only in the GM’s browser so players can’t see it, and you can revoke it from Foundry or from your Scry settings.
