None-constrained tab that allows you to pin Documents or Compendiums onto it.
About
This module adds a shelf that hides on the left side of your screen, marked by a small handle.
Hover the handle on the left side to slide the shelf out.
Drag any Document or Compendium onto the shelf, an actor, a journal (or a page of the journal), a scene, and it shows up as a small tab. Click that tab any time to open it again, no matter which sidebar tab it's normally filed under.
Why?
For Game Masters, you spend less time digging through tabs for the Document you need. You lose fewer things by accident, like closing a sheet by pressing Escape or the X button and then having to go find it again. And you spend less time setting the same things up every session, because everything important is already pinned right where you want it.
For players, pin the things you reach for most, maybe your character sheet, your session journal, or a Compendium full of items. That way you can grab what you need in one click instead of digging through the Actors or Journal tabs, and spend more time actually chatting and roleplaying.
Pinnable Documents and Compendiums
Open the context menu then click "📌 Toggle Pin", click the 📌 button in its sheet's header, or just dragging any of these onto the shelf:
- Actors
- Items (weapons, gear, spells, etc)
- Journal entries, and individual pages inside a journal
- Scenes
- Roll tables
- Macros
- Playlists
- Card decks
- Whole Compendiums
Limitations
- Pinning works by dragging something onto the shelf, so if it can't normally be dragged in Foundry, it can't be pinned either. This happens with a lot of premium modules that build their own custom "contents" pages out of plain clickable text instead of real draggable links, so those can't be dragged straight onto the shelf. Open the page itself instead and drag it in from the sidebar.
- You cannot pin folders.
To-Dos
- Optimize some of the CSS, I don't like how it keeps closing when you drag things out :(
- The handler can be much clearer but it will do for now.
- Add something similar to macro groups that allows you to switch when it comes to what's inside the shelf for easier prep for different cases (like when switching a map and you want a list of other pinned content that you prepared)
- Customer headers for the shelves.
- Add a demo/gifs it will help with explaining it clearer.
