Use your PDF character sheets directly inside the actor sheet.
Description
PDF Sheets is a simple module that provides a new type of actor sheet. This sheet allows you to use a PDF file as the character sheet, replacing the default system sheet.
It's the perfect solution for:
- When the official system's character sheet doesn't meet your group's needs.
- Playing RPG systems that don't have a dedicated Foundry VTT system.
- Bridging the gap between digital and traditional tabletop roleplaying.
The PDF is displayed seamlessly within the actor sheet window, providing a clean, integrated, and intuitive experience for both GMs and players.
Features
- Universal Actor Sheet: Apply the "PDF Sheet" to any actor in any game system.
- Integrated PDF Viewer: The PDF is displayed directly inside the actor sheet window creating a unified experience.
- Clean & Minimalist UI: The default PDF viewer toolbar is hidden. All controls are integrated into the window header as clean, intuitive icons.
- Full Control at Your Fingertips: The header controls allow you to:
- Select or change the PDF for the actor.
- Navigate between pages.
- Zoom in and out.
- Toggle between single-page and double-page (book-style) views.
- Automatically fit the page to the window.
- Download the current PDF file directly from the sheet.
How to Use
Applying to a Single Actor
- Install and enable the module in your world.
- Open any Actor sheet (e.g., a player character or an NPC).
- On the sheet's window header click on Sheet.
- Select "PDF Sheet" from the dropdown menu and click Save Sheet Configuration.
- The sheet will change. Use the PDF button in the header to choose a PDF file for that actor.
Setting as a Default Sheet
You can also set the PDF Sheet as the default for specific actor types (e.g., for all "character" actors).
- Navigate to the Configure Settings menu in your game.
- Select Core settings.
- On the Configure Default Sheets window, find the Default Sheet option for the desired actor type and choose PDF Sheet from the list.
Permissions
Please note that file access is governed by Foundry VTT's core permissions:
- To select an existing PDF from the server, a user must have the "Use File Browser" permission.
- To upload a new PDF from their computer, a user must also have the "Upload Files" permission.
By default, Game Masters have both of these permissions. GMs can grant these permissions to trusted players if they wish for them to upload their own character sheet files.
