Mortal Needs is a free module for bringing everyday needs into your Foundry VTT stories. Track hunger, thirst, cold, comfort, and other pressures, then decide how much they should affect the characters at your table.
Version 3.0 introduces a compact, movable GM dock with distinct need icons and meters you can drag during play. Players have a smaller view for their own tracked character, with visibility and editing controlled by the GM.
Send a character's worst visible condition to chat with the feather button beside their portrait, or use automatic narration as conditions change. Open a need to see its state, applied consequences, and recovery guidance.
Where your game system offers a recommended consequence, you can add it with Use recommendation and adjust the rule afterward. Supported temporary penalties appear as named effects on the character sheet. Fear is available as an optional built-in need and starts disabled.
No purchase or Patreon subscription is required. Install the module by searching for Mortal Needs in Foundry's module browser.
The 3.0 build has been checked in Foundry 14 with D&D 5e. Available consequences depend on the game system. Other systems and older Foundry versions need additional live testing.
