Monk's Little Details

An Add-on Module for Foundry Virtual Tabletop

Author: Ironmonk Project Source: Project URL Version 10 Last Updated 4 weeks ago

Monk's Little Details

A module to change the look and feel of a lot of little things within Foundry.  And added a handful of things to help with Automation.

Turn Notifications

Just before a player's turn and at the beginning of the player's turn, a notification will show as well as an accompanying sound to remind them.

Combat Encounter Automation

When a combat is started, the Encounter Dialog will popout and will switch to the Chat Tab.  I find that I'm always doing this, so might as well automate this.

The Encounter Dialog will also close once the encounter is complete and there are no other active encounters.

1.0.14 Added the option of automatically hiding enemy tokens on the list while building an encounter.

1.0.16 Automatically sets the defeated status when an NPC token reaches 0 HP.
1.0.17 Reveal initiative when changing a token from invisible to visible.

1.0.21 Removed selected targets if you are the GM.

Show Combat CR

When creating a new encounter, display the calculated CR.  Not 100% accurate but it should give the GM an idea if the encounter needs to be scaled.

Combat Tracker 1.0.14

Display an animated disc behind the token that currently has a turn in the encounter.

Token HUD alterations

Active icon highlighting

When something is invisible, targeted, in combat, or has the statuses open, I've added orange highlighting to the graphic.  Makes it a little easier to see what's highlighted than just the outside border changing.

Altered Status Effects

I can never remember what the icons stand for.  I've added the names beside the icon and sorted the statuses alphabetically to make it easier to find what you're looking for.  Also added a clear all button to remove all statuses quickly.  Highlighted the active statuses in orange to make it more visible, and added a handful of statuses that are frequently used in a 5e game.

Swapped Token HUD Buttons

Personally, I like the setting button at the bottom, under the target button.  But that could just be me.

Changed the invisible image

Changed the invisible icon to something that more closely resembles a 5e graphic.

Prevent removal from combat

1.0.7 Added the option to prevent tokens from being removed from combat by clicking the combat button.  You can still remove them through the Encounter Interface.

Character Sound Effects

Added a button to load a sound file to associate with a character. So if you ever wanted to make a dragon roar, or a banshee howl, you can upload the file, attach it to the character and play from the Token HUD. From the character sheet, a button with a speaker icon should now be visible. Clicking that will open a dialog window that will allow you to select a file, adjust the volume and preview the sound effect. And orange border will denote that I file has been loaded

While playing, bringing up the Token HUD will show a speaker button under the combat button. Clicking on the speaker button will play the sound effect using the current volume settings for Foundry.

You can change what character sheets this button is available for in the settings. Current options are, none to leave the setting off, everyone to turn it on all character sheets, and NPC to have it only available for NPC character sheets.

Core Css Changes

The images displayed in the FilePicker and Compendium crops the image if it's not square.  Changing the object-fit from cover to contains.

Also changed the Scene Compendium to more closely match what's in te Scene tools

Dominant Scene Colours

Added the top 5 dominant colours in a scene, so that you can set the background to a shade of colour that more closely matches the image used.

Drag Wall points together

Added a toggle to the wall tools.  When selected, dragging a wall point to a new location will also move any other wall points that exactly overlapped the first one. So instead of having to move both wall points to the new location it will maintain the connection between wall joints. Saves me some time when editing lengths of wall.

GM Move Characters

Select characters, move to a different part of the map, hold down the M key and click, will teleport all the tokens to the new location.  Makes life easier if you have multiple areas on your map and want to move all the tokens there without them seeing everything in between.

BloodSplats

When an Monster is killed, show it as a blood splat rather than the icon.  I find this eliminates a bit of clutter on the screen and makes it easier to see what's going on.  Player characters still show with the skull.

Swap tools by holding down a key

New to 1.0.17 Monks Little Details will let you briefly activate another tool by holding down a key.  Pressing Shift+key will change the tool.  This allows you to switch briefly to other layers such as the Tiles layer to update a tile to visible before releasing the key and switching back to whatever layer you were on before.

Timer

If you have the module Library: Chat Commands installed you can use /timer as a chat command. This will produce a count down timer. /timer 5 will add a timer that counts up 5 seconds. /timer -5 will count down 5 seconds. /timer 5:00 Send this message to the timer (Send this message after the timer is finished) will add a timer that counts up 5 minutes and displays the first message to the chat message with the timer. And once the timer it complete it will send a second chat message with the second message that's in parenthesis.
