The Pick'n'Mix 8 theme from The MAD Cartographer!
This module pack contains:
- 29 maps spanning 8 unique scenes, complete with dynamic walling, lighting, and ambient audio. All maps are 140ppi webp images, for the best balance of quality & performance in a VTT setting.
Maps in this Product:
- Volcano Chains.
This is a large, vertical map featuring large pillars standing in a lava-filled cavern. Massive chains link these towering islands, allowing characters to (carefully!) navigate them heading towards the largest platform at the north. We've created a variety of different versions of this map, where the final island contains either a treasure chest, an activate portal, or a dragon egg. There's also a blank variant with no focal point at the northmost island. Additionally, we've also provided a few different variants for all of the above; red lava, blue lava, acid (green), and a single crystal astral variant; for a total of 13 maps for this scene alone!
Foundry users will find that the chains serve as canopy elements, allowing characters who fall or climb down to pass beneath them. The background is also animated, slowly flowing thanks to the tile-scroll module. This Foundry scene is also our first time adding a mild overhead parrallax effect to a map, with overhead chains that shift and move with your camera panning. We're really keen to hear your feedback on this new feature so we can fine-tune it for future maps.
- Astral Altar. A mysterious altar located in the depths of interstellar space, this crystal-filled shrine serves some unknown purpose. A beautiful crystalline bridge allows characters to cross from the shrine proper to the entrance/exit portal. Foundry users are also able to pass beneath a number of overhead canopies on this map. For the area with the black hole, we've also made use of Foundry's new Darkness Source feature to add an animated black hole that prevents vision. Like the parrallax effect on volcano chains, we're really keen to hear your feedback on this new feature so we can fine-tune it for future maps.
- Frozen Dungeon. A long-forgotten prison complex that stands abandoned and forgotten slowly succumbs to the elements, with ice and snow beginning to creep in and permeate the stones. This large prison wing contains a wide central courtyard, cells dotted off to the sides, and an old torture/interrogation area to the South. Foundry users are able to pass beneath the torch scones and dragon busts, which are overhead canopy elements.
- Precursor Outpost. On the distant barren expanses of a moon hovering above your world, an ancient temple has stood undisturbed by even a faint breeze, for thousands of years. The Precursor Outpost contains 3 small buildings, one of which has stairways leading down to several levels of smaller sanctums. Foundry users can move up and down the stairs to navigate the outpost!
- Golden Capital. A magnificent city once stood beneath the shining bough of an enormous golden tree, but in recent years it has begun to corrupt and wilt. Now, the city stands empty, citizens long since fled, devoid of lords and utterly maidenless. Golden leaves fall from the tree and coat the walkways and rooftops. Foundry users are able to enter the buildings, and pass beneath one of the walkways. A Day/Night variant of this map is included.
- Deus Ex Machina. An alien rift stretches out between patches of earth and grass that have been torn from their home amongst the planes. A giant mechanical amalgamation presides over it all, ferried throughout the cosmos on a pair of giant bronze and steel hands. Some say the creature is an Oracle, others an alien. Foundry users are able to pass beneath the head and arms of the creature, which are canopy elements.
- On the Road. A high utility map - a stretch of road covering a variety of biomes and times of day. This works for your party traveling - a pursuit, a chase scene, a race - you name it! The main features for this map come with the Foundry module; using the tile-scroll module the scene automatically repeats and scrolls, allowing you to place your tokens on the map and giving the impression of travel! We've included two sets of scenes, Slow and Fast scrolling to allow you to set the scene to your requirement. 12 variants are included, covering day/night for a range of biomes and weather conditions.
- Lookout Point. A small outpost tucked away in a region of forest, this provides a small trading post or settlement. Is this a safe stop for your adventurers as they continue on their quest? Or are they here looking for an escaped fugitive who has established this outpost as their own homestead? A ladder in the centre of town climbs down to a small storage chamber, with a blocked off sewer potentially leading to other adventures! Variants are included for Day/Night.
