Description
This module (GM only) displays a small floating tool that lets you quickly add, change or remove a light source on the selected token(s), without going through the token's own configuration sheet.
Themes
5 ready-made themes are included (Medieval, Medieval-fantastic, Contemporary, Steampunk, Science-fiction), each with 5 light sources of increasing power (from a simple candle/glow stick up to a powerful floodlight or magic light). Switch theme either from the window's header menu (quick switch, the active theme is checked) or from the module's settings.
Range
A vertical slider lets you scale the light's range up or down (from ×0.33 to ×10), so you can easily match the light to the scene's grid scale. The current multiplier is shown next to the slider while you adjust it.
Auto-adapt
A toggle that, when enabled, automatically enlarges the light to compensate for tokens bigger than one square (e.g. large creatures), for every source applied afterwards. Example : a giant creature will carry a torch far larger than a man, and that giant torch will cast its light further.
Drop on the ground
The selected token's light source is set down at its current position (a tile using the same icon/color as the source appears, plus the actual light) and removed from the token, so if the token then moves away, the light stays behind.
Pick up from the ground
The reverse action — a selected token without a light source, standing close enough to a light previously dropped by this module, can pick it back up ; both the tile and the light are removed from the scene and applied back to the token.
Turn off all tokens
Instantly extinguishes the light of every token on the current scene, regardless of selection.
Other features
- Multiple tokens can be selected at once : the window shows the shared source if they all carry the same one, or no highlighted source if they differ. Selecting a token that already carries a recognized light source automatically highlights the matching button.
- Buttons are automatically enabled or disabled depending on what's currently possible (no token selected, selection without a light, nothing to pick up nearby, etc.), so it's always clear which actions are available.
- Levels of the scene are taken in account : you cannot pick up a light source from another level of the scene
- The window remembers its position between sessions, and its header menu has an "About" entry with the module's info (author, repository, supported languages, version, compatible Foundry VTT versions).
