The Isle of Fort-le-Damn is lost in the middle of the Serrated Seas. Trade routes avoid it due to the strong winds that often rise out of nowhere near its coast and can last for several days. Currents surrounding the small island are wild and unpredictable, as if something was periodically disturbing the waters from below. For reasons unknown even to his cartographers, the Mad King built a small bastion on the island’s highest peak. It came at a high cost, in gold as well as lives. Yet the outpost was quickly abandoned a few years later. Abandoned…or rather, emptied, for no-one ever saw the garrison again. “Stay clear of Fort-le-Damn” any mariner worth their salt will warn you.
