The Western Gate
The muddy, windy path of the Old Misty Road hugs the jagged mountain cliffs that form a wooded valley leading toward the Western Gate. An ancient structure that has stood for centuries to act as the first of many barriers leading to the castle at the top of the mountain. This gate serves as one of two choke points that guard both the eastern and western approaches to the castle and is sure to slow down any approaching army as they must funnel through this valley.
Through the twisting branches of the pine, red eyes watch your party and vanish in the thick mists that permeate these lands. Something evil has taken root here, and you can't help but feel the ominous presence of the castle high above you at the top of the mountain road, which starts its ascent at this juncture.
