Lothburgh: Dundland Weaver Rope Factory

If you're new to the Lothburgh series, I have been collaborating with adventure publisher Lunch Break Heroes to create maps for this new setting. The Lothburgh setting is currently being developed, and I'm excited to see this hit Kickstarter in the future.

The setting takes place in the city it's named after and features a Gothic-Victorian style world where electricity is the new "magic", the skies are choked with soot billowing from factories, and corruption runs deep in even the most trusted factions. The streets are enforced by clockwork constables who struggle to see morality outside of their black & white programmed minds. To make matters worse, cases of unsolved missing persons, murders, and corruption go unsolved and unchallenged while the constabulary seems to ignore them.

Welcome to the Dundland Weaver Rope Factory, which supplies rope for most of the ships in the nearby shipping canals. A crew of gangsters has taken up residency here and kicked out all the workers, and are not pushing forward with their murderous plots. Who's behind this shady organization? Will your party bring justice peacefully or by sword and pistol?

Map Features

  • Interior / Exterior – Full interior and exterior locations of the rope factory to explore. From roof fights to dodging bullets behind machinery.  

  • Interior Features – The factory includes the "Rope Walk," where bales of fiber are turned into the larger braids of rope you find on ships. A large furnace to produce the coal needed to power the rope-twisting machine. Storage rooms and a loading/shipping dock give your party extra places to enter/hide. And the foremen's office where the gang is currently holed up. Investigative parties will find a small grate where they can listen for intel and sneak in. 

  • No-Lights – Each color mood contains a "No Lights" version, and the lights can be toggled on / off via the custom UI

  • Levels Version – There is a Levels version available via the compendium

Variants & Custom UI

  • Six Color Moods:
    Smog & Soot (dirty, brown-toned grit)
    The Witching Hour (greenish haunted glow)
    Cold Iron (crisp blues and cool tones)
    Sunny Day (bright and warm)
    Night (dim lantern light and deep shadow)
    Gloom (desaturated and oppressive)

  • Custom UI Controls – Quickly toggle between lighting states and color moods. Press ALT+M to bring up a pop-up menu to control the scene options from anywhere on the map! 

  • Pre-Lit & Walled – Fully prepared for immediate use in Foundry; every light source, doorway, and detail is ready to drop into your campaign.
