Lothburgh - River Monster's Lair
Welcome to Lothburgh! A Victorian / Industrial-inspired city where the streets are patrolled by clockwork constables and electricity is the new magic. Some embrace it while others distrust this strange science.
This map features a Monster's Lair on the bank of the River Jass, a large river that creates the boundaries between the various boroughs of Lothburgh. Depending on where you might be on the river determines how clean and nice the water is. Down on the southern end of Lothburgh, the water here is brackish as the various factories dump their waste into the storm drains that empty out here.
A dark culvert leads to a flood channel, and the aged construction has given way to a number of cave-ins. The first of which some local fisherman have been using to sleep and catch their food, but something has grabbed them from their slumber and dragged them through the murk. The only evidence of their presence is broken bottoms, tattered bedrolls, and smears of dried blood. Further down the channel, another cave-in has blocked the path, but opens up to a natural tunnel that leads to a much larger cavern. Here, the sounds of rushing water can be heard as broken water runoff pipes have been pouring their contents into this room, filling the cavern with water. Here lies the River Monster. A twiested and muted Gulper who strikes out at night and preys on those foolish enough to be alone near the banks of the River Jass. Will your party get here in time to rescue their friend? Or will it be too late...
A perfect setting to feature an aquatic type of monster that stalks the banks of this river. If you're looking for a classic horror "Monster from the Black Lagoon" feel, this map will be perfect for any beast or monster lair!

Arch Layer
Using Foundry's layers, move your token under the Culvert Arch for better immersion. -
Exterior - River & Culvert Entrance
A murky river leads to a dark culvert where the monster lairs, creating an ominous entrance! -
Flood Channel & Fisherman's Room
A brick flood channel leads deeper into the city, now blocked by numerous cave-ins, which have created small passageways. One such passageway is a fisherman's hovel where all that remains is tattered, blood-soaked cloth. -
Monster Lair / Flooded Chamber
Water run-off from the pipes of the city, which are now broken, fills this room with dirty water. Bones spread around indicate this is the monster's lair, where the creature enjoys its next meal.
