Devil’s Table: Trade & Merchants
Devil’s Table brings persistent NPC shops and GM-controlled trading to Foundry Virtual Tabletop. Designed for D&D5e, it provides a shared merchant framework for General Stores, Taverns, Blacksmiths, Alchemists and Fences.
Package contents
The module includes 440 unique products, 40 service definitions, 26 merchant templates and 100 stock tables. Shared products retain consistent identities across merchant types.
Catalogues cover everyday equipment, tavern provisions, smithing supplies, alchemical goods and black-market merchandise. Services support activities such as accommodation, commissioned work, appraisal, sourcing goods and illicit trade.
Functionality
The Merchant Builder lets GMs configure NPC businesses, choose profiles, generate stock, set prices and funds, manage services, and control offer visibility. Stock generation considers merchant profiles, settlement size and prosperity.
Players browse goods and services through a dedicated shopping interface. Transactions use native D&D5e inventory and currency, with GM approval, revised offers and private transaction records. Merchants can maintain individual customer relationships, support negotiation and theft, and conceal goods or services until manually revealed or relationship requirements are met.
Optional integrations support Lock & Key, Calendaria and Dice So Nice. These modules are not required for core trading.
Documentation and compatibility
Included documentation covers installation, merchant setup, the Builder, catalogues, pricing, weights, services, integrations, architecture, extension APIs, contribution standards and release procedures.
Version 0.3.29 targets Foundry VTT 14 and D&D5e 5.3.3 using the 2014 rules. The Merchant Framework is feature complete; broader public-beta preparation remains ongoing.
