Winter Village [39x60] | 14 Variants

   
The settlement of Hailreach sits alone beneath a pale northern sky. Six timber houses line a narrow road that bends uphill toward a ridge of packed snow and stone. Smoke rises thinly from chimneys. The wind carries little more than frost and the distant cry of tundra birds. The wind changes fast and abruptly. Snow begins to lift from the ground in sheets rather than gusts. A low vibration rolls across the tundra, subtle at first, then steady enough to rattle shutters and loosen roof thatch. Those who step outside see the horizon blur, not from snowfall, but from something moving within it.

“The man at the gate wore no armor, yet the void bent around him as if afraid to touch his skin.
“State your purpose,” he said, tapping a ledger bound in something that looked too much like hide.
“I came to trade,” I answered, though my voice sounded thin even to my own ears.
He smiled and dipped his quill into the angel’s falling waters, where the ink flared silver. “Trade is easy here,” he said as he wrote my name into a page that had been blank a moment before. “It is the leaving that costs.”

Wrath's Lair [32x90] | 16 Variants

   
The Wrathbound have claimed and reshaped a subterranean ritual complex formed from natural caverns and forced stonework. The site was chosen for its isolation, its history of bloodshed, and its ability to channel movement inward. Paths narrow, ceilings lower, and routes funnel intruders toward the central ritual chamber. Retreat is possible, but never comfortable.

The cult did not build this place from nothing. They expanded, scarred, and repurposed it. Old tunnels were widened with brute force. Walls were cracked open to expose raw stone. Chains, iron fixtures, and brand marks have been driven directly into the structure. The site reflects the Wrathbound’s belief that pressure creates clarity.
