Daggerheart Spotlight Carousel

A revolving carousel display made for Daggerheart's spotlight mechanic.

How to use

1. Add tokens to the combat to make the Spotlight Carousel appear;
2. The GM can now click on any portrait to spotlight that token and start the combat.

• Spotlighting an actor puts their token closer to the middle, moving all portraits behind them forward in the queue;
• When an actor loses the spotlight, their portrait goes all the way down on the queue.

Features

• Request Spotlight

  • Players can Request Spotlight by clicking on their portraits. It plays a little sound and puts them in a queue ordered by request time;
  • They can also cancel the request by clicking on the icon that appears below their portrait.

• Combat Management

  • The GM can right click a portrait to open a little menu with the options to Hide, Mark as Defeated and Remove that token from combat;
  • Adversaries also get a small button that Spotlights them while spending Fear.

• Action Tokens Integration

  • If the variant rule for Action Tokens is enabled, it is displayed at the bottom of Character portraits;
  • The GM can click this display to decrease the value, looping back to the max once if goes past zero;
  • When all characters inside the combat reach 0 Action Tokens available, all Action Tokens are reset (this automation can be disabled in the settings).

• Group Portraits by Actor

  • If there are adversary tokens that share the same actor, a button appears in the middle of the carousel that enables the GM to group them in the same portrait.

• Token Disposition Side

  • Tokens with the Friendly disposition, usually allied NPCs, get placed inside the carousel on the players' side. They cannot be interacted with by the players, but the GM can spotlight them;
  • Neutral, Secret and Hostile tokens get placed on the GM's side as normal.

Keyboard Shortcuts

While hovering owned tokens on the canvas, both players and GMs can press the following keyboard shortcuts:

• Shift + S (players): Request the Spotlight for the hovered character token;
• Shift + S (GM): Spotlights the hovered token;
• Ctrl + Shift + S (GM): Spotlights the token while also spending a Fear to do so.
