Situated in the shadows of mounts Shuksan and Kulshan, Ahu Tiiko is a beautiful little village surrounded by lush forests and stunning lakes that welcomes visitors from all over. It's also a place full of secrets and spirits, of mystery and murder; a place with a deep, dark past.
Ahu Tiiko is a Setting Book for the tabletop roleplaying game, Coyote & Crow. But you don't need to be able to play Coyote & Crow, or even own the game, to enjoy this book.
So what is a Setting Book and what will you find inside? At its most basic, a Setting Book comprehensively describes a specific place in a particular moment, along with its people and problems, capturing all the lore you need to know in one handy tome.
In this case, the setting is Ahu Tiiko, a lakeside village in the northwestern portion of Makasing. Inside this book you will find plentiful material from which to create hundreds of hours of playable stories and the freedom to do so at your own pace. Ahu Tiiko allows players and Story Guides to forge their own path through . Ahu Tiiko sets up the mysteries, the people, places, and legends of the area and then sets you loose into their world.
There are dozens of mysteries to be solved in this book. A number of them are presented as ways for Story Guides to bring player's characters to this small village. Many will only unfold as players & readers get to know the people and their secrets.
Hidden throughout the book - and elsewhere - are clues to these mysteries. Many of them can be discovered by players speaking with the people of Ahu Tiiko or exploring its locations. Still others can be found hidden within the pages of the book itself. Not every mystery in this book will have its secrets spelled out for readers or even Story Guides. While all of these mysteries do have answers to them, it will be up to you to either discover their true natures, or to extrapolate your own answers on the evidence you've been given.

The larger mysteries of Ahu Tiiko are a great place for players or readers to start their journeys. Here are a few of them:
The Creeping Lights
A virtual reality game has recently become popular among the youth of Ahu Tiiko. It seems like a harmless enough puzzle game. But why do the teen developers of the game seem so reluctant to talk about how they designed it?
Aswaalah is Missing
A young man named Aswaalah has gone missing. His family is in crisis and local authorities are already stretched thin trying to find him. Could he have survived in the nearby snowy forests for over a week? Was he a victim of foul play?
The Longest House
Legends talk of a building, deep in the woods that has only one door and no windows. A place that doesn't want you to leave. Does it actually exist? Where is it? And what purpose is it serving?
The Quiet Ones
Not far from Ahu Tiiko are a group of people who keep to themselves. They seem kind enough and innocuous at first glance. But why do they all wear cloaks with strange symbols on them? Why do they stay at an oddly designed old house that predates the Awis? Why do they rarely speak? "The circle divides. The Line Returns."
Who Killed Witakin?
For the residents of Ahu Tiiko though, nothing is more pressing than the death of Wikatin. A well-liked young man, an apt student, active in the community, he seemed to have a bright future. He was found at the foot of Mount Shuksan under grim circumstances. Can you uncover what happened to him before this tragedy unravels the peace of Ahu Tiiko?
