Cinematic Cut-ins
Add animated character cut-ins, scene cards, and party finishers to Foundry VTT.
Cinematic Cut-ins gives GMs a visual effects control panel for JRPG-style attacks, boss introductions, spell moments, scene transitions, victory screens, and synchronized party attacks.
Create personal cut-in presets for actors, reusable global styles, scene-wide effects, and multiplayer All-Out Attack presets. Effects can be played manually, from macros, from the control panel, or through automated trigger rules tied to items, rolls, combat turns, resources, and conditions.
Key Features
Personal Cut-Ins and Visual Themes
-
29 personal cut-in themes: Includes Brush, Cyber, Cinematic, Royal, Saga, Tribal, Impact, Phantom, Arcane, Voltage, Scope, Blitz, Blossom, Slash, Burst, Glitch, Dash, Runes, Typewriter, Yakuza, Neon, Stellar, Broadcast, Adventure Map, Ink, Cleave, Eclipse, plus left-side variants for Blitz and Stellar.
-
Image and video support: Use static images, animated files, or video assets for the main character, with optional video looping and video audio.
-
Random variations: Add multiple image variations to a preset so one is selected at playback, with optional text overrides per variation.
-
Layout control: Adjust duration, screen position, format, character scale, position, rotation, mirroring, background visibility, character visibility, and shadow settings.
-
Text controls: Configure main text and sub text separately with font selection, font size, color, bold/italic toggles, independent offsets, and optional text hiding.
-
Custom layers: Add foreground or background image/video layers with z-index, blend mode, opacity, scale, position, rotation, mirroring, loop, delay, and mask options.
-
Audio controls: Set Voice/BGM and SFX paths, random audio lists, separate volume sliders, audio-only mode, local-only playback, and keep-playing audio behavior.
Automation and Trigger Rules
-
Item sheet triggers: Assign cut-ins directly from item sheets for item use, attacks, damage rolls, critical hits, dice checks, keywords, roll-only keywords, or advanced formulas.
-
Native automation: D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, and Pathfinder 1e receive native attack, damage, critical, spell, and item-use trigger handling.
-
Midi-QOL support: D&D 5e games using midi-qol can trigger cut-ins from Midi attack, damage, and critical workflows.
-
Template placement triggers: Area effects such as placed spell templates can trigger their assigned cut-ins when the measured template is created.
-
Chat and roll watch lists: Actor or global preset triggers can watch chat messages for keywords, dice results, formulas, PF2e critical successes, and Midi roll events.
-
Cinematic Inspector: GMs can right-click chat messages to inspect detected actors, roll groups, die indexes, totals, and text content for trigger setup.
-
Resource triggers: Watch actor resource paths such as HP, MP, stress, custom tracks, or any value/max pair. Triggers can fire when values cross percentage or absolute thresholds.
-
Condition triggers: Play presets when ActiveEffect conditions are applied or removed, including PF2e condition item support.
-
Turn and combat triggers: Configure turn start, turn end, combat start, round start, and combat end effects, with optional round filters.
-
Trigger macros: Any trigger can run a selected macro alongside the cut-in, or run a macro without playing a visual preset.
-
Dice So Nice timing: Optional Dice So Nice integration waits for real dice animations before playing queued cut-ins.
All-Out Attack System
-
Multiplayer party attacks: Start an All-Out Attack vote where players can join in real time, then play a synchronized full-screen sequence featuring the selected participants.
-
All-Out themes: Includes Rebel, Comic, Urban, Noir, Wanted, Classic Slice, Arcane, Legion, Dragon, and Horizon layouts.
-
Manual panel editor: Draw custom panel splits in the preview, undo the last split, hide editor guides, and choose split-line assets such as Neon Glitch, Black Brush, Soft/Rough Brush, and Prismatic Rift.
-
Participant setup: Each participant can have display text, base image, ready image, ready SFX, individual voice/SFX, colors, shadow, zoom, final placement, rotation, and mirroring.
-
Ready-state adjustments: Ready images can use their own zoom, position, scale, rotation, and mirror settings without changing the participant's normal All-Out image setup.
-
Global All-Out layers: Add shared image/video layers above or below the All-Out layout with blend, mask, loop, delay, and video-audio options.
-
Combat link option: All-Out Attack can roll initiative on join and start combat when the group is ready.
-
Custom vote UI: Configure vote button text and vote button sound per All-Out preset.
Control Panel, Presets, and Scenes
-
Cinematic Control panel: Manage actor presets, All-Out presets, scene presets, global styles, selected actors, filters, search, and quick playback from one tool panel.
-
Actor presets: Save multiple cut-ins per actor and play them from the actor sheet, control panel, macro, item trigger, or automation rule.
-
Global style presets: Store reusable visual styles at the world level and load them into actors, scenes, or trigger setups.
-
Actor groups: Assign actors to groups with default global presets, runtime fallback behavior, inherited trigger rules, and copy-to-actor options.
-
Scene presets: Create non-actor effects for chapter cards, location reveals, combat start screens, round banners, victory screens, or GM announcements.
-
Zip export/import: Personal, global, scene, and All-Out presets can be exported as zip packages that bundle referenced images and sounds. Legacy JSON import is also supported.
-
Macro and API access: Copy macro code for instant play, interaction prompts, All-Out votes, and preset playback. The module also exposes API helpers for reading presets and playing cut-ins programmatically.
Technical Specifications
-
No required external modules: Cinematic Cut-ins does not require another Foundry module to be installed.
-
System-agnostic playback: Manual playback, scene effects, resource triggers, condition triggers, chat/roll triggers, turn triggers, macros, and API playback can be used outside the native automation systems.
-
Native automation support: D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Pathfinder 1e, and D&D 5e with midi-qol receive extra system-specific trigger handling.
-
Localization: English and Korean included.
