AutoToken imports creatures forged in the AutoToken web workshop () into Foundry VTT as complete, ready-to-play dnd5e NPC actors: full statblock, portrait, circular portrait token, and a committed set of top-down token poses — idle, casting, combat, and downed.
Pose automation can switch the token image with combat state — for example, the downed pose at 0 HP — so tokens tell the story of the fight without the GM touching anything. Automation and media-hosting behavior are configurable in module settings.
How it works:
- Forge a creature at autotoken.app (free accounts include 3 new creatures per month) and export it as an AutoToken creature package.
- In Foundry, open the Actors sidebar and click AutoToken Import, or drag the exported file onto the canvas. You can also link your account and browse your own AutoToken Vault from inside the importer.
- The importer validates the package, builds the dnd5e NPC actor, wires the prototype token to the pose set, and localizes all media — including ability and spell icons — into your world's data folder.
